It wasn’t so long ago that the kitchen huddled at the side of the main floor restricting cooking to a closed-off space—an afterthought in the grand scheme of a home. Fast forward 100 years, the kitchen is now the heart and soul of most homes. A place where friends and family gather daily, the idea of the kitchen has transformed to reflect the changing lifestyles of people today. It is in the kitchen that a house becomes a home. Even in the most luxurious settings, the perfect dream kitchen brings people together to fuel the mind, body, and soul.

More and more people are focusing on personal well-being, sustainability, and the environment. Thus, these values are being translated into the creation of a dream kitchen design. The place where you begin and end your day should be uplifting, beautiful, and promote a healthy lifestyle. For this reason, interior designers put more work and money into the kitchen than any other room. Ensuring a setting of serenity, peacefulness, and togetherness that flows throughout the rest of the house.

Ritz Carlton, Design by David Collins Studio

When we think of the Ritz Carlton, we think sophisticated luxury. David Collins Studio echoes the traditional aesthetic of the Ritz through darker materials but adds a modern flair with accents of deep purple. Combining the traditional hues of gray throughout with a marble backsplash and island allow the purple accents to compel your attention. The design employs a saturated palette of colors executed in materials selected to infuse the home with a subliminal far east sensibility. Designed for an international audience, the space was inspired by the grandeur of historic Manhattan apartments. Feeling comfortable and small, yet open and airy, this kitchen encompasses the true essence of a modern-day kitchen.
