DESATURATED COLORS

Across Maison et Objet Paris 2020 a noticeable number of exhibitors showcased their home decor in desaturated colors. Less bright and more subdued, muted colors and pastels create soft, calm auras – a 2020 color trend clearly defined through Pantone’s 2020 selection.
Muted Colors
While vibrant tones scream for attention, muted colors offer a subtle beauty. Desaturated through the addition of black or gray, muted colors can also be easier to work with and match to overall design schemes. Ranging from playful shaded tones of purple and coral to sophisticated reds and blues, go for a muted color palette and the interior decorating ideas are seemingly endless!

Pastels

In contrast to muted colors, pastels are created by adding white thus brightening the tone as it is softened. Similarly to muted colors pastels create soft and calming spaces. And while many Maison et Objet exhibitors opted for muted tones, many also took the pastel route. Take on a pastel color palette for the perfect youthful or calming interior.
