A Master of Haute Hair!

With five Maison de Coiffure in Paris’s chicest neighborhoods, the luxurious Airelles Val d’Isère hotel in the French Alps, his hometown of Mulhouse in a beautiful half-timbered house typical of the region, and at Airelles Saint Tropez set in the magnificent Château de la Messardière, Christophe-Nicolas is one of France’s most renowned hairdressers. Known for his signature services, inspiring shows, and plant-based eco-friendly hair coloring, available at all his salons, or at L’Atelier BioT, a location dedicated to plant coloring. And another iconic space in the former boutique of designer Jean-Paul Gaultier.

In addition to his fabulous 100% natural hair care line, Bio by BIOT (available at his online boutique), Christophe-Nicolas’ clients love his signature Minute Dry Cutting service and Chignon Bar. Need that quick bang trim? Than the Minute Dry Cutting service’s 10, 20, or 30 minute formulas are perfect for the job. With a touch of pure indulgence of course! Or heading out? The Chignon Bar is ready to create the perfect look, from the most natural to the most creative requests. A true hair artist, Christophe-Nicolas creates the most stunning 10-minute buns, to the most elaborate “grand soir” looks!

Christophe-Nicolas’s artistry shines even further when it comes to hair shows. At just 17, he was propelled on stage by the artistic direction of the haircare brand Wella. And today he still serves as their Global Creative Artist. Hairdressers across the world eagerly await to see what he creates on stage. Each of his shows is designed as a visual performance, like a musical. His artistic choices leave nothing to chance: music, design, models, etc. are carefully selected. And his creativity doesn’t stop at hair!

Inside the Delightful Apartment of Christophe-Nicolas Biot

Located in the center of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the apartment of hairdresser Christophe-Nicolas Biot beautifully reflects his personality: colorful, joyful, and lively.

After around a decade on the right bank of Paris, Christophe-Nicolas decided to move closer to his salon in the 6th arrondissement. He instantly fell in love with this bright and spacious apartment with exceptional panoramic views over the capital. On the top floor of a typically Haussmannian building, he enjoys a stunning 360-degree view over Paris.

A fan of fashion icons, Christophe-Nicolas imagined a creative dialogue between the portraits of Yves Saint-Laurent and Kate Moss in his design. He then combines them with other contemporary photographs, including some signed by Ludwig Favre and Nicolas Bets. This use of art creates a strong visual identity which can also be found in the choice of textiles and decorative accessories with graphic and colorful patterns. Further, the shimmering colors and modern lines of the furniture create a harmonious atmosphere always aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

A Tour of Artistic Talent!

The entrance of the apartment welcomes you in with its vibrant yellow floral-filled vase by Oz Garden and colorful footstool by Flamant. A wood desk and chair by Kaolin add to the warm and inviting atmosphere. In the living room, the Belgium brand Flamant’s sophisticated table designs mix perfectly with the plush AMPM sofa and Norweigan armchair by Sigurd Ressell. The photo art by Jonathan Bermudes and the Yo2 rug design by Sacha Walckhoff boldly bring artistic flair to the space. As do the decorative objects, including Missoni candles and Sacha Walckhoff vases, spread throughout the space.

In the dining room, another stunning work of photo art by Jonathan Bermudes. Featuring the iconic Kate Moss this piece radiates beauty and joy. Vintage chairs from Stéphanie Pol (Marché Paul Bert Serpette) recovered in a Nobilis fabric are mini works of art on their own. And we must appreciate the lovely styling of the table in the photo below by Virginie Duboscq for Ideat Magazine. A spread featuring some of our personal favorite tableware designs by Vista Alegre for Christian Lacroix.

In the bedroom, Missoni reappears, a perfect fit for the happy vibes! By the bed, a portrait of Christophe-Nicolas could not be a more wonderfully placed piece of art. In the bathroom, art again makes the space with Molitor Summer Time by Ludwig Favre, Yellow Korner. And while we are on art, again in the kitchen, Bigoudi Party #3 by Nicolas Bets, Yellow Korner adds instant fun to the clean simplicity of the space.

Your favourite business tool or resource.

My iPad and my iPhone.

The most timeless design.

For me, it is a mix between light wood (oak) and light marble, with a few touches of velvet and leather to create a cozy atmosphere. I’ve also always loved the Art Deco vibe of the 30s.

The biggest hair faux pas.

Too much hair spray or lifeless hair without any fluidity… Anything that makes hair not look like hair anymore.

Your creative motto.

Never looking at the watch.

Our publisher KOKET makes statement décor, if you were to design a hairstyle inspired by one KOKET piece, which would it be, and why?

I remember two hairstyles that I have done (one is customized), and the light and color remind me of the Bloom Armchair.

Love happens when…

YOU’RE READY! Not too early, not too late.
