From Architecture to Bespoke Fine Jewelry: Meet Lindsey Scoggins
Starting in the jewelry industry after earning a degree in architecture may sound like a leap to some. But Lindsey Scoggins of Lindsey Scoggins Studio quickly found that designing jewelry involves many of the same elements. In particular, the uniting of beauty and integrity, precision planning, and attention to detail. Named one of the “12 New Engagement Ring Designers to Know Now” by Martha Stewart Weddings, and featured on The Knot, Who What Wear, Town & Country, Harper’s Bazaar, National Jeweler, and more, Lindsey Scoggins is a designer to know!
Meet Lindsey Scoggins
Lindsey’s passion for jewelry began while she was in college. Her mother had a small collection of family jewelry that she redesigned and made into beautiful rings that she gave Lindsey and her sisters for each of their 21st birthdays. As Lindsey says, “a love affair with the sentiment and significance of diamonds was born.”
The process has intrigued Scoggins ever since she began working for North America’s largest jewelry retailer, buying and sourcing diamonds. In that role, she traveled the world to develop relationships with jewelry manufacturers and diamond suppliers to ensure the product was perfect for their customers.
After a decade of advancing within that company, she moved to New York City from her home state of Texas. There she developed high-end product lines for a jewelry supplier. While also solidifying licensing agreements to bring well-known names in the design world to the jewelry industry.
Custom Jewelry Design
Throughout Scoggins’ years in the business, she has been lucky to design and build custom engagement rings when she could find the time, which allowed her to focus her creative energy on her true passion of designing custom jewelry from start to finish. She acquired a network of clients through word-of-mouth referrals, the most genuine of recommendations, and is now proud to enjoy it full time in her studio in New York’s Diamond District.
Lindsey’s design philosophy and process revolve around balance, authenticity, and craft, as well as artistry. She enjoys combining modern, geometric design elements with traditional, classic components and techniques. Her passion is to create more than a piece of jewelry. Every piece she designs reflects the story of the client it represents and is meant to be the most special piece in their jewelry box. All of her jewelry is made in New York City and is closely overseen by Lindsey herself. You can find her in her New York Studio where she still wears the ring her mom gave her for her 21st birthday every day.
