Founded in 1730 by King Louis XV’s pastry chef Nicolas Stohrer, the shop is still located in it’s original home on rue Montorgueil.
One more history note for one of our all-time favorite bakeries in Paris, Ladurée. Founded in 1862 by Louis-Ernest Ladurée in the luxurious and artistic Madeleine neighborhood, today the brand has locations around the world and is renowned for their legendary tea and macarons.
