FENDI Casa is no stranger to designer collaborations and when such partnerships lead to design magic, of course, the desire to work together again makes complete sense. This is precisely what happened with Italian architect, designer, and founder of the furniture brand Attico Design, Cristina Celestino.

The duo first worked together in 2016 when Cristina designed The Happy Room collection for FENDI Casa which debuted at Design Miami/. Most recently the pair reunited with the release of “Back Home”—a timeless collection true to FENDI’s heritage.

The Back Home Collection by Cristina Celestino

Referencing the roots of FENDI Casa, the “Back Home” collection features the brand’s iconic Pequin striped motif. The use of this beloved motif not only puts the brand’s stamp on the collection but adds authenticity and sophistication. Armed with her signature style and FENDI Casa’s Pequin motif, Cristina compiled a creative range of statement furniture pieces.

Adding to the brand’s aesthetic roots, Back Home includes an alluring combination of materials ranging from elegant marbles and onyxes to captivating metal surfaces.

Of course, the Pequin stripes seem to take center stage throughout the collection. However, you can’t seem to miss the inviting, curved, soft silhouettes of the rose-like design element seen on the collection’s tables and rugs. A signature from FENDI’s exclusive archives, the large floral motif came from a drawing Karl Lagerfeld did in 1983. Cristina chose the unusual rose, which incorporates a delicate version of the brand’s FF logo, as a softer form to offset the bold stripes.

In tune with the collection’s powerful presence, the unveiling of Cristina Celestino’s designs at Milan’s Salone del Mobile 2019 lived up to the extraordinary pieces. The vision of a Roman House from the ’70s came to life, with a large Pequin tent, once again referencing FENDI’s heritage.
