Scarlet Splendour x Nika Zupanc: A Luxury Furniture Design Collab to Note
When it comes to avant-garde aesthetic, exquisite artistry, and immaculate decadent design, Indian design editors Scarlet Splendour are a must know. And if you love statement furnishings their collection by Slovenian designer Nika Zupanc is sure to delight your senses!
Scarlet Splendour
Scarlet Splendour was founded in 2014 by siblings Ashish Bajoria and Suman Kanodia. While growing up in Kolkata, India the duo developed a deep sense of appreciation for beautiful things. So, they decided to combine their mutual passion for design and maximalist sensibilities and form Scarlet Splendor.
Today the luxury design brand is known for its trailblazing furniture, lighting, and rugs which cross the lines of classical and modern, whimsical and serious, and functional and dramatic. Through collaborations with numerous designers, the brand has developed a sensational collection of designs. However, their partnership with Nika Zupanc which began in 2018 takes the cake!
Nika Zupanc
According to Scarlet Splendour (and we agree!), Nika Zupanc “pours poetic disruption into the world of design.” And her creations “give voice to the eclectic and intimate by melding technologies, materials, and possibilities.” Nika’s work makes a statement about feminity, possibility, and independence. Her designs are emotional and offer up a touch of theatre and film noir, constantly redefining the status quo of design.

Strings Collection
Lightness and transparency emanate in Nika Zupanc’s Strings Collection. “Strings” of steel, a paradox as the hard metal appears fluid, define the cabinet and credenza designs. The collection launched at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2019.
Making a Statement with Dramatic Furniture Pieces
88 Secrets Collection
Inspired by the eighty-eight constellations of the stars in the celestial sphere, each piece in the 88 Secrets Collection evokes a sense of elegance, ambiguity, and romanticism. Nika Zupanc brings the magic of diamonds in the sky to life through geometric forms. She then adds a sense of light whimsy with a playful color palette of pastels and jewel tones. Rose and yellow golds accent each piece helping to define the beauty of this collection of casegoods, upholstery, and rugs.
