High Point Market Fall 2019 Reveals 2020 Interior Design Trends
High Point Market Fall 2019 wraps up today after five days of home furnishing excitement! Across all the beautiful, innovative, and eye-catching designs by top designers and furniture brands on display, a number of themes clearly stood out. Some upcoming trends and others ongoing, here are a few of our favorite 2020 interior design trends from High Point Market Fall 2019!
2020 INTERIOR DESIGN COLOR TRENDS
Many of the color palettes across High Point Market Fall 2019 were right in line with the 2020 color of the year reports published thus far. Soft, rosy pinks, blush, sage and mint greens, and a range of nature-inspired blues were seen. In addition neutrals, in particular, black, and the timeless drama of combos of black and white or black and gold also made a presence. And here and there some bright pops of orange and red also caught our eye!
FLORALS & NATURE
While floral patterns have been trending in fashion and interior design throughout 2019 they appear to be here to stay in 2020. New stylized interpretations of florals and other natural phenomena made statements across High Point.
Behind the Scenes: Inspired by Nature
CURVED UPHOLSTERY
From beautiful arching sofas to perfect curved chairs ready to hug those who sit in them, curved upholstery is definitely one of the 2020 interior design trends to note.
JEWELRY & FASHION INSPIRED DETAILS
Where rustic once dominated, glamour was definitely more present at the Fall 2019 edition of High Poing Market. And while there has been a growing hybridization between home decor and fashion for quite some time, jewelry-inspired details and other fashion-inspired designs were highly prominent this season! Upholstery details, accent pillow decoration, drawer pulls and more featured intricate designs made from materials such as metals and semi-precious stone.
STATEMENT SEAT BACK DESIGNS
A long-time stylistic choice made by interior designers when custom upholstering chairs, statement seat backs kept popping up across High Point. Perhaps an all-time 2020 interior design trends favorite for us, we definitely want to keep seeing brands offer this look.
PORTRAIT POP ART
VELVET
Velvet is a look that just might never go out of style! This soft, easy to clean, elegant, sophisticated textile comes in literally 1000s of colors, lusters, and weights, how could it possibly ever get old?! And based on its use throughout the showrooms at High Point Market Fall 2019 we certainly anticipate this carrying on in 2020 interior design trends.
ACRYLIC
The use of acrylic seems to ebb and flow throughout time, maybe slightly trending and slightly timeless. However, based on the great applications of this material we witnessed at High Point it seems safe to say acrylic will be seen even more in 2020.
CANING, WOVENS & NATURAL FIBES
Woven rattans, raffias, caning and other natural fibers popped up all over High Point Market Fall 2019. This is one of the 2020 interior design trends that will surely be most popular during the Spring and Summer months given its wonderfully tropic/outdoorsy vibes!
