Become a Digital Nomad and Work Remotely From Paradise
Love your job but wish you could do it from somewhere more exotic? Now is the time! COVID pushed the world to embrace remote working. And the new norm has proven to have lots of benefits for both employees and employers. Of course industry matters, but it seems pretty safe to say working from home won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Long before this pandemic digital nomads had embraced virtual working, relying on telecommunications while traveling the world. Now, of course, travel is still an issue and constantly moving from one place to the next is not the best idea. However, living the digital nomad life doesn’t have to involve moving quite so often. Are you imagining settling into the Caribbean yet?
Caribbean Islands Allow Digital Nomads to Work From Their Beaches
Yes, you read that right, this is a real opportunity! Recently the Caribbean dual-island nation of Antigua and Barbuda joined Barbados and Aruba on the list of countries trying to attract digital nomads to come and work in paradise. And of course in turn help support their economies.
Antigua & Barbuda’s “Nomad Digital Residence” Program
In October 2020, Antigua and Barbuda announced a new program called the “Nomad Digital Residence” program. Under this initiative, remote workers making at least $50,000 a year, can apply to live and work remotely from the Caribbean islands for up to two years.
The “Barbados Welcome Stamp“
Recognizing that more people are working remotely, sometimes in very stressful conditions, with little option for vacation, Barbados is offering a 12 month “Barbados Welcome Stamp”, a visa that allows you to relocate and work from one of the world’s most beloved tourism destinations.
