Design Affair: A Designer-Client Masterpiece by The WM
If it’s one thing Lh loves, it’s a design firm that not only exceeds their clients’ expectations but also their shared interests in interior design with luxurious looks. So of course we have a major design crush on The WM, its fabulous founders LeTricia Wilbanks and Selena Mackay, and this stunning project! Based out of Houston, TX, The WM is all about bringing their clients’ dreams to reality. And this is exactly what they did when the duo teamed up with fellow industry professional Joshua Weisman, owner of Construction Concepts, to design and construct the perfect home.
After discovering The WM’s euphoric designs, amazing taste, and love for interior design on social media, the Weisman’s were eager to collaborate with them. This partnership with Josh was unique from an interior design perspective due to his professional experience with construction. Not only did The WM create beautiful features and elements for this project, but their client was able to construct The WM’s designs. This special designer-client collaboration led to a true design masterpiece.
MEET THE WM
In 2018, the talented designers LeTricia Wilbanks and Selena Mackay attended an industry event and were instantly drawn to one another based on their similar interests. Despite coming from different backgrounds, their addictive tastes in interior design would inevitably bring them together. A moment that would eventually be the start of the phenomenal design firm The WM.
LeTricia grew up on a farm in East Texas. And discovered her passion for art and architecture at an early age. Though she faced certain hardships along the way, nothing stopped her from achieving her dreams as an interior designer while also modeling. In 2008, she established LeTricia Wilbanks Design where she created many beautiful spaces under her solo name before teaming up with Selena.
Born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Selena learned her love for interior design and creating beautiful pieces from her parents. She began her career in fashion where she went on to earn numerous awards and recognition for the collections she created. But as her fashion career furthered, she began to gravitate towards construction and furniture. And so began her interior design practice.
Once LeTricia and Selena realized they shared the same passion for modern design, they decided to join forces and developed Houston’s latest luxury design venue The WM. And now they get to create amazing projects like the one we are about to explore!
INSIDE THE MODERN MASTERPIECE
The Foyer
From the moment you enter the stunning foyer of Josh and Trisha Weisman’s home, modern glam vibes radiate. The space instantly sets the stage for the black, white, and brass color palette the couple chose to carry throughout their home. Black walls and the black staircase with a python-patterned runner make a dramatic statement greeted by astonishing white marble floors and warm brass chandeliers and accents.
Adding to the room’s allure is a bespoke pass-through bar and double glass wall of champagne bottles. This was one of the fabulous results of the designer-client relationship that took place on this project. And for some exotic flair, a jaw-dropping bronze lion statue, implemented by Josh.
Into the Living Room & Dining Room
The modern glam vibes continue into the living room. Here chartreuse velvet accent pillows, reminiscent of brass, pop against the black, white, and gray space. Gucci tiger pillows beautifully play up the exotic.
The luxuriously sophisticated dining room and neighboring study incorporate brass elements as well, ready to seduce one’s senses. It is also in these spaces that the client’s love for Moroccan design can be seen in the chair fabric and wallpaper patterns.
In the Kitchen
Here the designer-client collaboration really shined. As it was Josh and his team who implemented the space’s glamorous black and white cabinets. The beautiful modern cabinets feature elegantly placed brass handles and serve as an attraction all on their own! Glamourous brass chandeliers and contemporary bar stools complete the design. While the large windows display an amazing view and bring in a light that further accentuates all of the color patterns and elements the Weisman’s desired.
The Master Suite & Beyond
In the master suite and outdoor living space, the theme of bold black and white contrast is softened to an earthy palette of grays and browns. A love for modernism, craft, and design, on all accounts, is displayed throughout the Weisman’s gorgeous home. And its story of designer-client relationship gone right, leave us still swooning.
