In a design world that often mistakes noise for presence, Sha Wang builds rooms that know how to be quiet. The founder and principal of Atelier Fēn received her interior design education in Vancouver, the city she has called home for more than twenty years, and her work carries the serene charm of the West Coast in every line — calm, composed, and quietly alive.
Shaped by extensive travel and a multicultural eye, Atelier Fēn has become known for interiors that blend minimalism with sensory richness, from single-family homes to multifamily and commercial projects. Sha approaches each space as a collaboration with the people who live in it, guided by her belief that our surroundings shape our well-being — and her motto says the rest: design quietly, live fully.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
A quiet moment of clarity — natural light pouring into a thoughtfully composed space, where stillness and beauty coexist. Perfect happiness is the harmony between inner peace and outer form.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Creating spaces like 11 & Crown that not only reflect the lives of those who live in them, but also elevate the everyday into something quietly transcendent. It’s not about grandeur — it’s about resonance.
What profession does your alter ego have?
A perfumer — someone who captures memory, mood, and the ephemeral with an invisible artistry. Much like space, scent is architecture for the soul.
The design you will never forget.
The courtyard of the Benesse House Museum in Naoshima by Tadao Ando — the interplay of concrete, sky, and silence was unforgettable. It felt like walking into a still poem.
Your favorite business tool or resource.
A blank sketchbook. It’s still where every idea begins — a space without algorithm or constraint, where intuition leads.

The Metamorphosis Mirror. This mirror is more than a reflection — it’s a narrative. I would design a quiet yet emotionally charged entry vestibule around it: dark, textural walls, soft underfoot materials, and minimal lighting to let the mirror become both sculpture and symbol. The gold scorpion at its heart evokes transformation through tension — a reminder that beauty is often born from discomfort. It’s the perfect punctuation for a space meant to mark the threshold between the outer world and an inner sanctuary.
