20 Top Interior Designers & Architects Creating Designer Home Decor

designer home decor - ribbon console, vengeance table lamp and feathered wall paper by koket janet morais

We have been creating lots of lists of Lh favorites recently, but this one on interior designers and architects who use their design talent to create not only stunning interiors but also beautiful designer home decor might just be one of my favorites!

The worlds of interior design and furniture are highly intertwined, but they also have many differences. Interior designers and architects orchestrate spaces, using furniture, decor, and art to create interior atmospheres. They seek out the most beautiful designs. But also create bespoke furniture and decor, perfectly customized to fit each of their interior masterpieces. So, it comes as no surprise that often interior designers and architects expand to the other side. Becoming furniture and decor designers and suppliers.

This list also holds a special place in Love Happens’ heart as our founder is one of those designers that expanded her personal brand from a design service business to a world-renowned designer home decor brand. When we composed this list we selected designers we admire for their beautiful interiors and home decor products. Some have their own brands while others offer their product designs as collections through other fabulous home decor brands. But all of them have two things in common, top design talent and beautifully crafted home decor. We cannot get enough!

“Arbiters of taste and holistic living, blending the line between what is beautiful and what sustains.” This is how the insanely talented, gracious, and dynamic design duo Joshua Rose and Rafael Kalichstein describe the intention behind each project at their Los Angeles area firm FORM Design Studio.

An Emmy award-winning designer, Josh spent many years in visual effects and production design for the film and television industry before joining forces with Rafi to share his unique and unparalleled perspective with the world of interior design. For nearly twenty years Rafi explored and practiced Eastern healing. Eventually becoming a certified practitioner of Black Hat Feng Shui, a practice he embraces in his current design work.

In 2006 the pair started FORM Design Studio where their unique backgrounds, shared innate sense of style and genuine character result in the creation of exciting, harmonious, functional, and visually gorgeous spaces. Known for their eclectic, mid-century, modern and transitional style, they love to decorate with the finest materials and finishes, luxury furniture finds, unique lighting, and exquisite accessories.

Constantly on the hunt for the perfect products, FORM, of course, has some ideas of their own. So began their foray into product design in 2016 with The Brussels Collection for Dempsey & Carroll.

Stationery was just the beginning for FORM. In 2017 they launched beautiful works of art with the Leftbank Art Collection. Next in 2018 came beautiful hand-knotted rugs from Nepal designed for The Bisous Collection for Mehraban Rugs. Then, most recently, FORM partnered with Global Views launching a beautiful collection of furniture, accessories, lighting, and rugs with the designer decor brand. Enjoy!

When it comes to his furniture, Thierry designs with lines and materials that leave no one indifferent, all this inherited from his first love, straightforward architecture, and from his passion for Jean-Michel Frank, Paul Dupré-Lafon, Jean Prouvé, etc.

A connoisseur of 20th and 21st century Decorative Arts, an inquisitive talent scout, in 2017 Thierry opened an eponymous gallery in Paris to present his furniture alongside the work of talented artists, painters, and ceramists, who he represents with the same conviction. Deeply-rooted passion!

Whether it’s for his prestigious building sites or for his high-end furniture pieces, Thierry’s passion for content and container features the same exacting requirements in terms of details, a taste for streamlined graphics, noble, strong and timeless materials,—precious and rustic, smooth and rough— such as marble, bronze, Macassar ebony, lacquers, exotic essences.

Fiona Barratt

With more than 17 years of experience, Fiona Barratt Campbell is no stranger to the ins and outs of design. From award-winning interiors to renowned product designs through her brand FBC London, in Fiona’s words, “My designs are born of a passion to create pieces of timeless elegance, luxurious in their diverse materiality, quality of finishing and attention to detail. Each piece is made by a variety of artisans and craftsmen utilising modern and traditional techniques with a varied palette of materials and textures. I’m immensely proud to say that many of our products are still manufactured in the northeast of England, within a few miles of where I grew up.”

Born and raised in Northumberland, England, Fiona draws on the history of the rugged landscape she grew up in; shaped and influenced by its underlying geology laid down some 400 million years ago. Roman influence is a further stimulus, including Hadrian’s Wall and its archaeology; the most heavily fortified frontier in the Roman Empire. Design is embedded in Fiona’s DNA.
