AQVA by Artemest

For Milan Design Week 2021, Artemest presented AQVA: a gallery-like exhibition of bespoke artworks and design pieces inspired by the theme of water, handmade by Italian artisans and showcased at the prestigious Senato Hotel Milano.

“Past, Present, Future” Exhibition by Dimoregallery

Dimoregallery showcased PAST and FUTURE exhibition for Milan Design Week 2021.

In PAST, Dimoregallery celebrated the design masters of Italian Rationalism through a museum-like exhibition featuring works completed during the 1930s by Italian architects Piero Portaluppi, Marcello Piacentini, and Piero Bottoni, historic hand-painted wallpaper from @degournay.

The work of Claudio Salocchi is at the core of Dimoregallery’s FUTURE exhibition, the first-ever retrospective dedicated to the Italian architect, interior, and furniture designer.

Guiltless Plastic by Rossana Orlandi

The third edition of Rossana Orlandi’s GUILTLESS PLASTIC, the International Project to raise awareness for reuse, recycle and upcycle of waste, presented three exhibitions during Milan Design Week 2021. TrashFormation Village, an ideal village realized using re-waste materials and new technologies, for a re-thinked coexistence between Man and Nature. Hall Of Waste, virtuous projects that valorized waste and celebrated a new generation of projects for a new circular economy. And Re-Food Market, located at the Sala Cenacolo, an iconic supermarket whose shelves hosted food brands engaged in responsible action to raise awareness on the issue of food waste.

New Collections, Metropolis & Vertigo at Barovier & Toso

Amidst the exceptional introductions from Milan Design Week 2021, Barovier&Toso, the 700-year-old Venetian lighting brand, launched two stunning collections of chandeliers, Metropolis and Vertigo, both showcasing a striking new color palette. The eye-catching designs are currently featured in an installation curated by vandersandestudio in Barovier&Toso’s newly renovated showroom in Milan. Inspired by 1920’s glamor, each piece references the vibrancy of the visual arts, architecture, design, and fashion that defined the period. Barovier&Toso’s steady pursuit of distinctive hues and chromatic effects is emboldened by a new palette of modern colors ranging from warm to cool tones.

Alcova 2021

Alcova is a platform for independent design developed by Space Caviar and Studio Vedèt. Currently operating as an itinerant network of exhibition spaces across multiple sites in and around Milan, it activates forgotten locations of historical significance, temporarily recasting them as venues for performative activities.

For the 2021 edition, Alcova took over three historical buildings of extraordinary charm, immersed in a large urban park: approximately 3500 square meters of indoor and outdoor spaces with over 50 exhibitors including independent designers, innovative brands, galleries, cultural institutions, and companies.

il Salone / la Citta @ Triennale

Curated by graphic designer and architect Mario Piazza, il Salone / la Citta exhibition told the story of the relationship between Salone and the City through the collateral events that Salone has promoted in Milan over the past almost sixty years (2022 is the anniversary!).
