Paris Haute Couture Week Fall/Winter 2023/24 Looks We Love!
Schiaparelli
At our publisher KOKET, Schiaparelli is a favorite, and with this season’s designs, it is easy to understand why! The collection appeared with vibrant colors and clothing with imaginative accessories.
Inspiration from the human body seems to be a commonality for Schiaparelli. First seen in the bright royal blue design above, which features body paint as the top, blended up the neck, the paint is used as a statement of the human body and its connection to typical fashion devices. A human face is also seen emerging from the gold palm leaf necklace, which double serves as part of the ensemble’s top.
The connection to human forms continues for Schiaparelly’s FW 23/24 collection with accessories such as the beautiful plated wristlet jewelry with engraved faces and the gold plated ears posing as coat buttons against a stark black material. Schiaparelli also makes a statement with a white cover-up that combines eye-catching textures of soft wool and wooden accessories. The wooden hands also made for an illusion as if a part of the model.
Rahul Mishra
For this season’s line, Rahul Mishra produced dress silhouettes with beautiful and intricate designs. Even the neutral black gown is made one of a kind with silver leafing flowering across its body. The most whimsical gown in this line is the Bridal design, a beautiful off-white color two-piece with embroidered pastel flowers and a sheer veil. It is easy to read the time and effort spent on this piece and its most finite details. The line’s most eye-catching piece—a vibrant purple two-piece set. The top resembles the petals of a flower, even the intricacy of a petal’s veins and spots, with no detail spared.
Giambattista Valli
The couture line from Giambattista Valli certainly turned heads with its extravagant and fairytale silhouettes. This gorgeous black halter romper with lace inserts and a long drop waist skirt open in the front is anything but simple, yet sleek and powerful all the same. Meanwhile, the cotton candy pink bodycon dress is the picture of femininity, with extravagant bubble sleeves and a train giving it the fairytale and whimsical element.
Chanel
Chanel’s line for Paris Haute Couture Week revitalizes the iconic look with two-piece sets that represent the merge of Chanel’s past with its future. The black pantsuit set with white detailing is perfect for the classy and powerful women. While keeping a strong brand presence, anyone can recognize the trademark style of Chanel designs.
Elie Saab
The silhouettes by Elie Saab never fail to impress and are a staple couture line every season. Our favorite design of this line feels like it has stepped directly out of a royal castle, a gorgeous royal green felt, with nude cutouts creating intricate designs along the dress’s entirety. In addition, the connected hood and cape create a royal and classical feel. This gives the overall design the ability to crossover interchangeably between timeless and modern beauty.
A common theme in this year’s runway is empowerment, and this gown is a prime example of just that. The jacket’s shoulder pads and intricate gold beading against the stark black make for an incredibly powerful look. Paired below it, the gold beading continues on a see-through mesh with an elaborate design that shapes the body. The high collar adds to the silhouette with strong lines throughout.
Zuhair Murad
Zuhair Murad’s designs claimed the runway with an atmosphere of dark natural beauty. The dark flowing sleeves and feather designs connect us with an aspect of nature, and the silver beading contrasts with the black to make for an unforgettable piece of couture. The next piece includes a fantastical flowing black cape with a bubble collar around the neck. The one piece below features a spiderweb beading design, flowing with dark yet vibrant colors. These designs are dark and sexy, appealing to the powerful woman.
Juana Martín
This season Juana Martín’s runway show detailed some incredible artistry. With many pieces referencing the human face and body, her line style imagery is prominent throughout many designs. This dress provides a simple silhouette paired with an open panel showing the bare chest. The silver face designs surround the shoulders and chest and can be looked at from an artistic lens to represent the human body and its roles in art and fashion. With a primarily neutral color palette, these designs can take the main stage.
Iris Van Herpen
The collection for Iris Van Herpen blurred lines between fashion and nature, combining the beauty of the human body in accordance with artistic design. The metallic gold geometric shapes give an art-deco feel, yet modernized in its small silhouette shape.
Christian Dior
Christian Dior’s line provided designs with simple yet detailed silhouettes. The intricate designs and patterns give a rich, soft, glam feel to the piece, and the gold leafing contributes a reflective connection to nature. The small ties along the waist and sleeves leave the eye ever-wandering for the discovery of new details.
ASHI Studio
Focusing on eye-catching silhouettes and designs for this season, Ashi Studio represents the neutral color palette in this design above. This gorgeous cream silk is paired with a beaded asymmetric halter neck, portraying elegance and timeless fashion. Meanwhile, below, the deep heart neckline corset top paired with a black wrap is a classy example of the evergreen style achieved with these neutral colors.
Valentino
Valentino’s collection exudes its classic elegance, and reminds us of its powerhouse standing in the fashion world. Utilizing strategic gathering of a rich gold silk, the silhouette elevates the modern design and its futuristic elements.
FENDI
For Fendi’s collection, the brand created a classical yet modern look with their designs, all while keeping in mind the trend cycle and finding a happy medium of timelessness. The cool gray-toned wrap dress and clutch connect the looks with earth tones. The silver designs elevate the simple color just enough to make it one of a kind.
Rami Al Ali
At Love Happens Mag, we love Rami Al Ali! For the FW season, the Lebanese design master’s collection is inspired by the French artist Henry Matisse. The creativity shines through the shapes and colors used in each design, and layering creates volume and dimension. This gorgeous strawberry pink gown creates the illusion of pooling water and oil, a true connection to his artistic inspiration and craftsmanship.
